Your family is special.

A caring community starts with families. Our host families are long time residents and have a great reputation in the community. They love the opportunity to host a student and share their kindness and traditions with visiting students. Each student stays in the village of Tilaran close to program staff and central high school.

Your second home.

Tico families provide a comfortable home for you to enjoy the local experience. Besides lodging, familes provide meals, laundry and supervision. Familes are selected by our school staff and receive pre-program training on hosting a student. 

You're going to return someday.

Gain confidence and build friendships is a priority in our program. Language after-all is about people! Connect in the community, learn from your family on how to live like a local so you can return one day on your own.  Want to stay a semester? just ask us.

Moving to a new and different community may seem "scary". We make it easy by providing a family that is part of the school. Don't put pressure on yourself to know everything, just have fun, be yourself and relax.
