"Teaching Spanish is not enough, our students need to feel they belong to it"

Our Profile

ILBA PREGO- Director

What is missing in high school Spanish!

For high school Spanish students nothing can compare to the dynamics of youth interaction, it's the missing link that will ignite their true Spanish potential. The power of youth engagement has a direct impact on Spanish fluency, it creates a warm, non-judgmental, relaxed and fun environment to fully absorb language naturally. Real meaningful engagement, not forced - makes all the difference in Spanish acquisition!

Our safety net!

We provide a full safety net that makes our exchange unique to Latin America, the Director is a member of Rotary International, her own high school daughter is an exchange student. Parents familiar with our exchange know that we supervise all aspects of the experience. No third party tour operators, or in-experienced college students. Our international staff and close knit host families

work together to provide the appropriate support and supervision that high school students require!

Friendly Staff Support!

Our high staff to student ratio (1:3) means individual support and interaction for visiting students. Because we run only one high school program, parents know that the program director is involved in all day to day student activities. We take great pride in being Latin America's most community oriented high school exchange program. To learn more about our summer program we strongly encourage prospective students and parents to use our past participants, parents and teacher contacts. We always welcome your questions, and please take the opportunity to request our free program DVD.

Our Colonial High School your connection to Latin America!

The Nicaragua High School Summer Exchange, is a chartered member of the Nicaragua Ministry of Education and since1998, a member of the Wisconsin Public Schools International Programs,  today through the success of our dynamic "Spanish Through Leadership" philosophy, we enroll students east-to west, Boston to San Francisco, and north to south, Toronto to Tallahassee! Whether it be sports, the arts, academics, or music and dance, we provide rewarding opportunities for high school Spanish students to experience the warm embrace of Central America's most historic colonial high school, Granada, Nicaragua.
